Dragonfly

This girl dropped in on us yesterday.





Shame she thought the (chlorinated) pool was a better place to lay her eggs than the actual 3' by 2.5' pond, though.

I can well believe in the days when these things were two feet long.

    Beautiful. I've never seen one that color, ours out here on the east coast tend to be dark with splashes of blue or yellow. Still pretty, but nowhere near that glamorous.

    The ones I've seen before here are iridescent blue.
