And it's the manliest ever!
Well, that was quite a video.
One of my favorite music videos is Michael and Janet Jackson's Scream, which shared that high key aesthetic and also, now I come to check it, featured breaking glass screens and guitars. Jack's newest reminded me of that. However, Michael's cost $7 million, whereas I bet Jack didn't spend more than $17,000 on his. And Michael's was a bit girly, let's face it.
Jack's video was just bursting with testosterone!!!11! Shattering glass, pry bars, muscle cars doing donuts, fuzzy dice, bulls, spitting, balls, skeletons, flames, playing in an asbestos suit (due to said flames), wrecking ball, manly drummer in skintight trousers, someone twiddling his knob so hard I thought it might tear off, an explosion and a snake!
It was so filled with manliness I had to go have a shave afterwards.
Not with me? Come on, the first shot is an inside-facing-out view of someone thrusting a Jack plug into a tight socket!
They don't make them like this any more! Well, not until now!

You go shave, I'm gonna take a cold shower instead. Oh, and I received my Vault package this evening. Let me know when you get yours so we can set a date for a listening party.
My non-Vault version's not here yet but I surely will let you know when I get mine!
I’ll preface this by saying I love the track and do like the video…. But. It is somewhat similar to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1oXVDraYU3Q
When your music video makes you look like what perfume makers think rock stars are it’s a bit worrying.
That ad is dreadful! The wimpy commentator just drags it underwater, which is incredibly difficult since it has Iggy Pop himself in it. But he manages.
Re: the Lazaretto video: I think Mr. White is doing it on purpose. He's a sly one.
White is playing Glastonbury this year, so the set will be broadcast on TV (on the red button) and maybe on FM. As is Robert Plant. Should anyone wish to record them.
(They're supporting Metallica - now known as 'lica, since the band is no longer metal. Black Keys are on the next day, which brings me to White's apology after his Rolling Stone interview. I've seen the Von Bondies pictures and, in a Celebrity Deathmatch between White and Adele, my money's on Adele.)
Will you be there, Mike? I'd love to be there.
My money's on Adele, too.
Just got tickets for Jack White + The Kills in Dublin.
Cookie, I'm so envious! I'd love to be there. Have a great time!
I thought the video was a bit weird. For me “Look” by Yung Jake was one of the best music videos 2014 if you consider the low budget work. It was shot by an iPhone.
It was a nice idea but those vertical videos always make me feel like I'm staring through a peep-hole in an iron cell door.
